Re-vamping with Overstamping
Here's another little something from Close to My Heart corporate- a video on the "overstamping" technique. I wanted to share it mostly because I love the cute little calendar blocks featured in the video made using the My Creations Collage Cubes.
Enjoy!

More out of Home Decor with Close to My Heart
So I guess I've been taking a little blog break... babies that constantly want to be held, potty training, bookkeeping, and everyday momisms seem to leave me little time for blogging lately. Or scrapbooking for that matter! But here's a little something from Close to My Heart Corporate that I thought I'd like to share:
There are so many creative ways to use hand-crafted 3-D items. Use our great products to create home décor that will bring a fun and unique accent in your home. It’s easy to use Close To My Heart products you already know and love—with a different twist!

This festive thankful countdown uses the My Creations® cubby to celebrate Thanksgiving. Fill the Cricut®-cut boxes with reminders of things you are thankful for, and share the grateful fun with your family. Use it to countdown to your favorite holiday, like Thanksgiving, or use different embellishments and countdown to a loved one’s birthday to show them how much you love them.

This adorable star was made from Collection Two of the Hostess Collections, available through Hostess Rewards in the Autumn Winter 2012 Idea Book. Show your hostesses this spunky star so they have an idea of what they can create from this particular Hostess Collection. While the Dakota paper packet, Casual Expressions stamp set, and Dakota Complements Foil Images have a country feel, you and your customers can use all of these same materials to make a welcoming star for your front door.

Everyday household items can also be combined with Close To My Heart products to create dazzling home décor. Use the Flirty paper packet and your Cricut® machine, along with everyday household items such as a flower pot and Styrofoam ball, to create a papercrafted tree. Or add a few Dimensional Elements to the autumn colors of the Flirty papers to create a desk calendar using two My Creations blocks. You can even use cute Cricut®-cut flowers and leaves to make a festive banner!

For displaying precious memories, the display tray is a perfect fit! Display photos, stamped sentiments, Dimensional Elements, and other embellishments for a prized layout that you can proudly hang anywhere in your home. The display tray is easy to personalize, too; cover up several windows with cardstock for larger photos!

That's all for now- cheers!

A little bit distracted...
Wow, it's my first post of the month and it is the 20th! Sorry for the lack of posting over the last 20 days or so. I've been a little bit distracted...
Baby Elijah joined our family on August 1st 2012 at 7:51pm. My sweet little guy was born 21 inches long and weighed 7lbs 4oz. He's been keeping me pretty busy as I find it hard to stop staring at him all day long. :-)
Stay tuned as I do hope to soon be back in action in the craft blogging world!

Close to My Heart Florentine Family Layout
I'm so glad that the Florentine Paper Pack is being carried over to the new Autumn Winter Idea Book, as it is one of my favs. I got the idea for this layout from page 53 of the Spring Summer 2012 Idea Book:
I made a few changes, but for the most part I copied this gorgeous layout. The Art Philosophy Cricut Cartridge was used to cut the letters. I was planning to keep the page in my scrapbook but I love it so much that I tempted to frame it after I put a photo in!
I made a co-ordinating right side page for this layout. This one I just made up along the way:
Family Love was the stamp set I used in this layout (also from page 53 of the Spring Summer Idea Book) and I LOVE LOVE LOVE this stamp set.
List of Products used (all CTMH):
-Florentine paper pack
-Family Love stamp set
-Art Philosophy Cricut Cartridge
-Filigree Charms
-Colonial White Embroidery Floss
-One sticker from the Florentine My Stickease
-Cocoa ink pad
Get your own Close to My Heart products on my website. Today until Sunday you will get the Sophia paper pack and co-ordinating embellishments FREE when you order $75 or more!
